Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has revealed that he will be on the ballot in the 2022 general elections.

Sifuna revealed that he will, for a second time, attempt to clinch the Nairobi Senatorial seat under the ODM party ticket.

While making the announcement, Sifuna revealed that he will also be voting at Loresho Primary School in Westlands, Nairobi County.

"I will henceforth vote at Loresho Primary School in Westlands Constituency. I will be vying for the Nairobi County Senatorial seat in 2022 on ODM party ticket," he said.

The latest announcement comes days after he refuted claims that he will be vying for the Bungoma Senatorial seat.

Sifuna said that he shelved his ambitions to vie for the Bungoma seat after consulting with those close to him including his clan members.

"You people have used your resources campaigning for me to go for gubernatorial, senatorial or even Kanduyi parliamentary seat but it is unfortunate that I won't vie for any elective seat in Bungoma in 2022," ” Sifuna told ODM delegates in Bungoma.

Adding: “After wide consultations with my clan, family, and close friends, I have decided to shelve my ambitions and concentrate on supporting Raila Odinga’s presidential bid."

Following his recent announcement, Sifuna will compete with city lawyer Karen Nyamu of UDA who has also declared her quest for the Nairobi Senatorial seat.
