Sossion, Langat to team up against UDA’s nominee in Bomet senatorial race
ODM nominated MP Wilson Sossion has come out to declare his next political move following his loss during the UDA nominations.
Sossion, who was seeking UDA's ticket in the Bomet senatorial race, came third behind Nairobi-based lawyer Hillary Sigei and the incumbent senator Christopher Langat.
Langat and the former KNUT Secretary-General disputed the results of the nominations with the latter terming the primaries as a shambolic selection of nominees.
In the results, Sigei floored the two garnering 77, 500 votes while Langat scoring 65, 006. Sossion managed 45,371 votes.
The duo has announced that they will hold talks aimed at fronting a single candidate to square it out with UDA's nominee.
"Senator Dr Andrew Christopher Lang'at and I will produce one candidate to run on Independent on 9th August. The agreement is agreed upon and sealed. This is to protect the sovereignty of Bomet and its resources. Support our nominee on the 9th of August this year. Be positive and kindly wait for our next move," Sossion said in a statement to Bomet residents.
