The Supreme Court of Kenya has announced that it will issue a comprehensive judgment on the presidential election petition on Monday, September 26.

The apex court's registrar L.M Wachira noted that the judgment will be issued through email.

“Take notice that the reasons for the judgment of the court, that was delivered in this petition on the 5th day of September 2022, will be delivered on the day Monday the 26th September 2022, at 2:30 pm through email,” Mr. Wachira said.

Speaking after reading an abridged judgment on the presidential election petition, Chief Justice Martha Koome stated that a detailed judgment would be made available in 21 days.

The apex court rejected a petition filed by Azimio presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga challenging the win of President William Ruto.

The seven-judge bench also threw out petitions on the outcome of the presidential elections by six other petitioners.

The judges noted that the petitioners failed to prove that the presidential elections were bungled.
