Rift Valley regional Commissioner George Natembeya, who is eyingmTrans Nzoia gubernatorial seat, suffered a major blow after he lost a fraction of his key political strategists who have accused him of stinginess and dictatorship.

The opinion shapers, who have since thrown their weight behind his competitor, Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa, said the unending frustrations in Natembeya's camp were untenable.

“The regional commissioner does not tolerate consensus. He has a habit of forcing those who work in his team to toe the line as if they are his subjects in the security circles,” Wanambisi Mulongo, one of the strategists from Cherang’any, who has been the chief campaigner for Natembeya, said.

Mulongo added that the Regional Commissioner is emaciating his think tank having tasked them to foot bills for the team's logistics while assuring them that they will reap big if he ascends to power.

They also expressed disappointment in the alleged micromanagement of the police boss by Defense Cabinet Secretary Euegene Wamalwa whom they claimed is determined to cherry-pick leaders for various elective seats in the region.

“We have realized that the regional commissioner is not on his own. He has been chest-thumping that he is the choice of the deep state whose Western region representative is CS Wamalwa,” one of the defectors said.
