Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is in for an inhouse political squabble over his recent 'election' as FORD Kenya's party leader.

On Thursday, November 4, Wetangula was made FORD Kenya's presidential flag bearer for the 2022 general elections contrary to a court order in a decision by the party's National Delegates Conference (NDC).

Dismissing the decision by the NDC, Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi who has been at loggerheads with Wetangula over the stewardship of FORD Kenya accused Wetangula's faction of violating court orders.

“We as law-abiding Kenyans and Ford Kenya as a party that respects the rule of law, we quickly consulted citizens and decided that we obey the court order however, we are aware that the other faction is going ahead to hold an NDC in total violation of a court order this is the kind of people we’re dealing with,” Wamunyinyi told a press conference on Thursday in Nairobi.

After his controversial endorsement by the NDC, Wetangula said he will ensure Kenya is recognised in the global space as a peacemaker once elected president.

“This is a party where democracy thrives. Once elected president I will ensure Kenya takes its stage in the world scene as a peacemaker in the region and globe,” Wetangula said.
