Oppo recently launched their 2021 flagship smartphone in Kenya, the Oppo Reno6 5G.

The phone packs some cutting edge features that cannot be overlooked.

The device features the company’s intelligent ColorOS 11, iconic Reno Glow design with ultra-slim retro design with a thickness of 7.59mm and weighing 182g, and powerful performance from the MediaTek Dimensity 900.

“The design of Oppo’s Reno series is a reflection of style and taste. Reno6 5G comes with a unique colour – Aurora, in addition to the ever-popular black.

The newly upgraded Reno glow gives the phone a fresh new look and energetic shine when viewed from different angles,” introduced Muthoni Wachira, Head of Projects and PR at Oppo Kenya, during the launch.

On the front of Reno6 5G, the 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate delivers a more vivid and smooth viewing experience, protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Paired with this display is 360-degree Light-Sensing enabled by two sensors, which improve the accuracy of auto-brightness adjustments, making the viewing experience more comfortable.

At the back, you have the 64MP primary lens, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lens. You can record videos in 4k at 30fps.

The 32MP single selfie camera can only record videos at 1080p at 30fps. There are many upgrades in the optic department, such as bokeh flair portrait, focus tracking and portrait beautification video.

Under the hood, Reno6 5G is the first phone on the market to feature MediaTek’s latest 5G-integrated SoC, the Dimensity 900, built on a 6nm processor.

It is a powerful chip that handles even the heaviest of graphic gaming, including PUBG, without a lag.

One area to watch out for, though, is the battery life. The high-end device only packs a 4300mAH cell, unlike its competitors, who offer a bigger battery capacity.

However, Oppo Kenya Product Manager Ernest Teigut says the phone comes with a 65W fast charger that can power the phone up to 25 per cent in just five minutes.

The brand has promised loads of interesting stuff like the ability to add RAM, game focus mode and game filter for a better gaming experience. You can also customise icons.

For Sh59,999, you should be able to experience every emotion in portrait, as is the slogan of the new phone, in stellar black or aurora.
