Bridge International Academies have assured parents and guardians of their children's safety as the school embarks on phased reopening as directed by the Education Ministry.

Bridge's Country Director Reuben Wambugu guaranteed to parents that reopening of their academies shall be accompanied by full health measures as directed by the Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha.

“We are working hard to make sure that we are reopening strong and ensure a safe return to our schools. The health, safety, and well-being of our pupils, staff, and families is top of mind. We are committed to following government guidelines and ensuring that
we are a good partner for everyone in our community,” said Reuben Wambugu.

Since schools closed in March 2020, Bridge said they have been committed to ensuring all pupils and families have the learning resources and support they need.

The school that runs a network of academies across the country provided learning materials to pupils for free.

With the phased reopening, Bridge said they will continue providing learning as they observe safety.

At their schools' premises, they have put several public health signs, procured sufficient hand washing materials and face masks for their learners.

“We have also ensured that all our schools have partnered with the nearest public health facility in the community, and their details captured on the school’s information poster that is displayed publicly for all to see within the school premises,” added Wambugu.

On arrival, all the staff and pupils are expected to undergo temperature screening while the desks have been rearranged for social distancing.
