Change of tune as Murkomen supports BBI referendum and calls Raila Baba

Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.

Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen changed the tune to support a referendum to implement the recommendations in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.

Speaking on January 24 at Mama Ngina Park in Mombasa during the BBI rally, Murkomen said that a referendum was needed for the BBI, taking a 'U-turn' on his views about the referendum.

Since December last year when the BBI report was launched, Murkomen has all along shown opposition for a referendum, until today.

"We need a referendum to implement the recommendations in the BBI report," said Murkomen at the rally.

At the Mombasa BBI rally that was attended by over 20 county governors, 50 Members of Parliament(MPs), Murkomen also referred to Raila as 'Baba'.
