The Pan African Alliance (PAA), the party associated with Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi, has declared support for Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja conference set for Friday, December 10 at Kasarani, Nairobi.

The party said its members will attend the conference because PAA believes in the unity of the country which Azimio la Umoja is advocating for.

"As a national party in the Republic of Kenya, PAA fully embraces the unity rallying call that defines the Azimio la Umoja agenda," the party said in a statement.

The party added: "PAA firmly believes that its manifesto which captures the aspirations of its members  across the country, will be best articulated and advanced in an environment of national unity, which is what Azimio la Umoja is all about."

The party secretariat further said that it will work with people and leaders who advocate for the unity of the country going forward.

"For this reason, PAA will stand shoulder to shoulder with other like-minded political parties and leaders and Kenyans at large in championing unity in our country Kenya," the statement read.

Early this year, Kingi said he was leaving Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to start a new party that will unite the people of the coastal region.
