Kisumu Health CEC dies in Nairobi
Kisumu County Health Executive Committee Member (CEC) Prof Boaz Nyunya is dead.
Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o confirmed Prof Nyunya's death in a statement to newsroom on Thursday.
"Prof Nyunya, a widely experienced medic, a researcher and a scholar passed on in Nairobi after a short illness, at age 65 years old," Nyong'o said.
The governor praised Prof Nyunya for his hard work and his role in rebranding the health status of Kisumu County.
"During his short stint at the department, Prof Nyunya created a brand for exemplary services. At the Cabinet, he kept us on our toes with detailed and accurate delivery of Covid-19 reports and mitigation measures in the country," he added.
Before joining Kisumu County, Prof Nyunya worked at Moi University as senior lecturer and at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
