Media grieve death of ex-TV anchor Winnie Mukami

The media fraternity was once again hard-hit following the death of journalist Winnie Mukami.
Mukami, who recently served as a board member at Kenya Pipeline Company, died on Thursday, March 18, at Nairobi Women’s Hospital from Covid-19 complications.
She became a household name in 2003 when she became an anchor at NTV when the station was launched.
She had started her career journey at KBC as a TV and radio current affairs presenter and producer where she worked for two years.
In 2010, Ms Mukami left NTV after seven years to start her own public relations firm, Winners Frontiers International Limited, which she was running until her death.
Following her death, leaders and journalists united and sent messages of condolences to her family.
Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney who sent her condolences messages to the family raised concerns over the Covid pandemic describing it as a bad one.
“My deepest condolences to friends and family of the late Winnie Mukami. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
This pandemic is real and it is bad. Let us all take care of each other and stay safe,” she posted on her twitter account.
Kiambu County Woman Rep Gathoni Wamuchomba in her Facebook post said: “Saddened to wake up to the news that you are no more Mukami. I’m short of words.”
