East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament(MP) Mpuru Aburi has proven to be a thorn in Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi's leadership by unleashing a series of criticisms.

The man who has earned himself a name (Kiumiru) to mean brave, has been giving the county boss sleepless nights accusing him of 'siphoning' public funds and under performance.

In February, governor Kiraitu got a temporary gag order against the EALA MP after he(Kiraitu) sued Aburi for defamation. The court restrained Aburi from publishing any defamatory information against Kiraitu.

Speaking about the court ruling over the weekend, Aburi said Kiraitu was not thankful as he (Aburi) fought for his (Kiraitu) election in 2017.

"I was told not to mention Kiraitu's name by court but I fought hard in 2017 for him to clinch to the county boss seat but he has now changed," said Aburi.

Earlier, Kiraitu wrote to Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju instructing him to revoke and expel Aburi from the party accusing him of gross misconduct.

"Aburi should stop mentioning my name false-fully. Enough is enough, he should give me peace of mind to deliver to people of Meru as the governor elect because I know those are noises of a crying baby. I know my prodigal son is coming home soon and I will prepare a big feast to welcome him home and he will sing my song again before 2022," said Kiraitu .
