Thika's Hospital Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Danson Mburu is nursing knife injuries after he was attacked by unknown people at his home Thursday night.

According to his Kamenu ward counterpart Raphael Chege Waithumbi, the attackers got behind Mburu while he was getting into his home in Ngoingwa Estate, attacked him with a knife, and broke one of his fingers.

The unknown number of attackers run away with his phone after the alarm was raised.

Repeated Attacks

This is not the first time for the MCA to be mugged. In March 2018, over 10 armed thugs broke into his office and attacked two guards.

The assailants bundled the guards into Heaven's Gate Church and slashed them with machetes, spilling blood it the church compound.

Mr. Mburu attributed the 2018 attack to his political foes.

“The thugs must have been paid goons by my political competitors and the reason why they did not steal anything from my office was a clear indicator that they were looking for some land documents,” said Mburu after the 2018 attack.

Again in March 2019, furious residents of Gachagi attacked the MCA after a meeting with them went south.

Mburu had convened the meeting with the owners of disputed Gachagi Land Settlement Scheme. The owners accused Mburu of wanting to grab their land.
