Family claims Kahawa MCA was murdered

The family of Kahawa Wendani MCA Cyrus Omondi, who died a week ago in India, is demanding justice claiming the civic leader was killed.
The claims were supported by a number of Kiambu MCAs, who also alleged that their colleague was executed for political reasons and as a result they fear for their lives.
However, Kiambu Governor James Nyoro called for calm and assured the fallen MCA’s family and county leadership at large that everything was being done to unravel the cause of the death.
Speaking during a funds drive towards Omondi’s burial plans at Kahawa Wendani Primary School, his elder brother Felix Otieno asked the government to get to the bottom of the matter and ensure justice is done.
Murder plot
“As a family we know Cyrus was executed because of politics and we believe the murder was plotted for quite some time. He had even expressed fears that his life was in danger and all we want is justice,” he said.
Several MCAs, led by Chief Whip Kuria Karema, said some of them may be targeted for elimination by a cartel associated with a former top county leader over their stand against corruption. But Nyoro asked the county reps and the public to let the relevant government agencies carry out investigations with a view to resolving the matter.
