South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro and his Dagoretti North counterpart Simba Arati reconciled during the funeral service of Bonchari Lawmaker John Oroo Oyioka at Itierio secondary school grounds on Friday.

In a dramatic turn of events, Arati entered the podium, comforted the family and smiling, invited Osoro and hugged him as mourners watched and cheered them.

Several Members of Parliament joined them at the podium, held hands in solidarity and left Arati continue with his speech as mourners praised them.

Father Nyaanga, who had celebrated Mass for Oroo rose, greeted him and said they had been praying for him and Osoro to greet each other and unite for peace to prevail.

“When a mistake occurs, it is good to reconcile and move on. Osoro is my brother, colleague in parliament and he is my agemate,” Arati told mourners.

The duo reunited almost a month after they clashed and fought at Tendere stadium, Bomachoge Chache constituency, Kisii County during the funeral of Deputy Governor, Joash Maangi’s father, Abel Gongera, aged 101.

The Dagoretti MP had alleged that Deputy President William Ruto was associating with unpopular leaders from Gusii, which angered Osoro and prompted him to jump to the podium and attempted to snatch a microphone from Arati, leading to a scuffle.

Family members were shocked as the two fought as former prime Minister, Raila Odinga and DP Ruto watched.
