Siaya Senator James Orengo has taken a swipe at Deputy President William Ruto describing him as a political saboteur who has perfectly mastered the art of distraction.

Orengo claimed that DP Ruto had failed in executing his constitutional mandate as the principal secretary of President Uhuru Kenyatta leaving the Head of State to run the government alone.

Orengo asked Kenyans to teach Ruto a lesson by sending him home in next year's polls for failing to help the President.

"Ruto should have been helping President Uhuru implement government's agenda but he has failed to that in the last 8 years. Now that the president had an handshake with Raila Odinga, a lot could have been achieved is he (Ruto) joined hands with the President.

"I am sure Kenyans will deal with Ruto perpendicularly come next year," Orengo said.

Orengo was speaking on Friday at the home of Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi at a function that was attended by Raila Odinga and his allies.

Raila's allies who were present at the function also chided at DP Ruto and his allies for claiming that Raila for being a State Project in the 2022 General Elections.

East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member DR Oburu Odinga said that Raila cannot be a State Project since he has been his own man in past presidential elections.

Oburu said that Raila, his brother, has always been a fighter in his political career and cannot be anybody's project.

According to Oburu, if anybody is to be a state project then it is DP Ruto and that can be proven by his political track record.

"I have heard people saying that Raila is a state project. I want to tell those people that Raila has never been anybody's project in his entire life," Oburu said.

"It is Ruto who can be a project and nobody else. He was made a Secretary-General at 26 out of favour from Kanu."
