AFC Leopards trio extend stay at the Den
AFC Leopards have tied down three players ahead of the 2022/23 FKF Premier League season scheduled to kick off this month.
The club has confirmed that Captain Eugene Mukangula, centre back Tedian Esilaba and forward Ojo Olaniyi have penned down a new one-year deal at the den.
Following the new deals, the club has confirmed that the three will be at the den till August 2023.
"We're pleased to announce that our captain Eugene Mukangula, defender Tedian Esilaba and forward Ojo Olaniyi have extended their stay with the club," reads a statement by AFC Leopards.
"They have signed 1 year contracts each that will keep them at the den until August 2023," the statement further added.
Mukangula joined AFC Leopards in 2018 from former Premier League side Thika United. The player arrived at the den during Coach Rodolfo Zapata's reign and signed three-year deal and was handed jersey 19.
In April 2022, he was elevated to be the club's captain following the exit of Marvin Nabwire.
Esilaba's Leopards move
Esilaba, on the other hand, switched teams to the Leopards in February 2021 after playing for the Nairobi City Stars and aiding their promotion to the Premier League. He had previously played for Administration Police FC and Bidco FC.
Olaniyi on his part joined AFC Leopards at the start of the season. The three join the long list of players who have agreed to stay at the den.
Other new deals
Other players who extended their deals with Leopards are defenders Robert Mudenyu and Collins Shivachi who have also signed new one-year deals with the FKF Premier League side.
Goalkeeper Maxwell Muchesia Mulili has been handed a new three-year deal at the club while South Sudanese International Mousa Saad has penned a new one-year deal.
