Harambee Stars keeper Farouk Shikhalo unveiled by TPL side

Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo has been signed by Tanzanian Premier League side Mtibwa Sugar.

The player was unveiled on Tuesday by the Turiani-based club alongside Matore Jean Pipi and Eliuter Mpepo. The club, however, did not reveal details of the player's deal with the club.

The keeper will be expecting to make his debut next week as Mtibwa takes on Namungo FC in the league opener.

Shikhalo ended his association with Tanzanian Premier League side Kinondoni Municipal Council FC (KMC) five days ago. It was after a season with the Dar es Salaam-based club.

He was released alongside former Gor Mahia midfielder Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza, Martin Kigi, Nickson Clement Kibabage, Kabunda Hassan, Abbas Kapombe, Sudi Dondola, and Denis Richard.

Shikhalo has been in TPL since 2019, he signed for Yanga in July that year and stayed at the club till August 2021 when he was released following the expiry of his contract and the arrival of Malian goalkeeper Djigui Diarra.

Season at KMC

After leaving Yanga he joined KMC where he spent just a season and helped them finish 10 on the log.

In Kenya he played for Talanta FC, Tusker FC, and Muhoroni Youth, a side he helped win the Top 8 Cup. He later moved to Posta Rangers and has also featured for Bandari FC.
