Mbappé reacts to trolling by Argentinian keeper Emiliano Martinez after World Cup loss

Kylian Mbappé has finally had his say on Emiliano Martinez's trolling following Argentina's World Cup victory over France.

Mbappe scored a hat-trick past Martinez in the final, plus his penalty in the shootout to win the Golden Boot.

It wasn't enough, as misses from Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni were enough to secure a 4-2 win for Argentina.

Martinez used it as an opportunity to relentlessly mock Mbappe in his celebrations. The Aston Villa goalkeeper called for a 'moment of silence' in the dressing room and was pictured holding a doll with Mbappe's face on back in Buenos Aires.

His actions were criticised in the immediate aftermath by fans and pundits alike. Villa manager Unai Emery admitted he would be speaking with Martinez about his conduct upon his return to Villa Park.

Mbappe has stayed silent throughout all this. That is, until Wednesday evening.

The 24-year-old naturally received questions about Martinez following Paris Saint-Germain's 2-1 victory over Strasbourg, a game he scored the decisive penalty.

What did he have to say? Naturally, he didn't want it to develop into a war of words.

The forward instead focused on teammate Lionel Messi finally getting to lift the trophy in his final appearance at the tournament as a player.

He told reporters: "I talked with him after the match. I congratulated him. For him it was a life goal. For me too, but I lost, so I have to be a good sport. Celebrations are not my problem, I don’t waste time on such trivial things."

The lad has ice in his veins. Mbappe's response has gone viral on social media, with supporters praising his mentality.

One person said: "He's better than me. I'd have tried to go in on Martinez as much as possible."

Another commented: "This is what class looks like. No wonder he's one of the best."

Someone tweeted: "So mature. You wouldn't guess which of them is 24."

While a fourth put: "The people calling him arrogant are being really quiet right now."
