Four Mvita MP employees die in Lamu road crash
Four employees of Mvita Member of Parliament Abdullswamad Nissir died on Saturday in a grisly road accident on Mpeketoni-Lamu Road.
The accident occurred after a tyre of the car they were travelling in burst causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
One person died on the spot while three others, 2 men and a lady, died while receiving treatment at Mpeketoni Sub-district Hospital.
Lamu County Commissioner Irungu Macharia confirmed the incident and urged road users to be vigilant when travelling especially at night.
Orange Democratic Movement mourned the four.
"We are saddened to learn of the death of four members of Hon. Nassir team namely Ali Omar Naaman, Ms. Carol Wayua Mueni, Athman Mohammed Omar and Elysian Musyoka through a tragic road accident this evening.
"We pray for the families of the deceased during this difficult time," ODM statement read.
