Jubilee’s decision to expel six nominated senators suspended
The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal on Tuesday suspended the decision by Jubilee Party to expel six nominated senators over gross misconduct.
The tribunal’s chairperson, Desma Nungo, said the ruling was to allow the affected members get a hearing in court.
Senators Isaac Mwaura, Millicent Omanga and two others moved to court Tuesday, seeking to overturn the party’s decision.
Jubilee Party on Monday, February 8 expelled nominated senators Isaac Mwaura, Seneta Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Millicent Omanga, Prengei Victor and Iman Dekow.
“The expulsions are with immediate effect and have been communicated to the Senate and the Registrar of Political Parties,” the ruling party stated.
