Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Friday, July 22, called out Bungoma residents for disappointing him in the recently released opinion polls.

Speaking to his supporters during a rally in Kimilili, the former premier stated that he was displeased with the results that showed him trailing his main challenger Deputy President William Ruto.

In the results, Ruto was ranked first in the county with 60 per cent popularity while Raila had 40 per cent popularity.

Raila noted that he felt slighted by the residents considering the fact that they are his people.

"An opinion poll carried out last week shows Raila is trailing Ruto in Bungoma. He (Ruto) is at nearly 60% and I am at 40%. Shame on you people! Shame on you people! Shame on you! I feel very slighted," he said.

"I look at the forces of liberation in this community: Masinde Muliro, Kijana Wamalwa and Elijah Musinde, and asked myself are these people even Bukusus? I thought Bukusus are made of a different material,"

Raila, who was flanked by other leaders allied to his coalition, had taken his campaigns to Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties.
