Senator Johnson Sakaja yesterday responded to forgery and fraud allegations filed against him and reiterated that he attended and graduated from Team University.

In response to four complaints filed at the electoral commission, Sakaja says he graduated from the Ugandan-based institution on October 16, 2016.

“Complainants’ wild allegations to the effect that l did not graduate from Team University are factually hollow and unfounded,” Sakaja states in a reply filed before the IEBC committee.

The Nairobi senator claimed the complainants left out a page showing his name on the graduation list of the university, which is located in Uganda.

“That among other qualifications and awards of excellence, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Management degree conferred upon me by Team University in Uganda, having satisfied the requirements for the award,” Sakaja said.

Electoral malpractice Sakaja also stated that his qualifications and academic papers are not in doubt having been affirmed through a lawful process.

The first-term senator has also distanced himself from the name Sakaja Koskei John son who has been named in the petition saying he has never used that name.

“ I have never been known, identified or addressed by the name Sakaja Koskei Johnson in any manner,” says Sakaja.

Sakaja has four cases filed against him before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Dispute Resolution Committee.

Dennis Gakuu Wahome, Evans Katia, Alex Abare Musalia and Timothy Ayieko are the complainants in the petition.

Through lawyer Paul Nyamodi, the voters informed the tribunal that the allegations that Sakaja holds a valid university degree are false. The four complaints against him will be heard on Wednesday.
