‘Mudavadi will be Ruto’s running mate in 2027’ – Mutahi Ngunyi predicts
Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi now claims that President William Ruto will settle on Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi as his running mate during his 2027 re-election bid.
According to the accomplished lawyer, Ruto will shortchange Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua since the import of the vote-rich Mt Kenya region will have been downsized.
The former Technical assistant to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta further stated that it would take a 'Kenneth Matiba' reincarnate to regain the relevance of the populous Mt Kenya region in the country's political landscape.
"Mudavadi will be Ruto's RUNNING mate in 2027. Kikuyus will be DOWNSIZED and need a Kenneth Matiba to REGAIN relevance," Mutahi Ngunyi tweeted.
Mutahi Ngunyi's sentiments come months after an election season marked with claims of betrayal and talks of unpaid political debts.
President William Ruto's camp was disgruntled after retired President Uhuru Kenyatta threw his weight behind opposition chief Raila Odinga.
The Kenya Kwanza brigade believed that the retired Head of State was compelled to back Ruto, having won consecutive presidential elections on joint tickets.
Uhuru, however, went against the odds and endorsed his erstwhile arch-rival, Raila Odinga.
