National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi resumed his presidential bid campaigns with a series of rallies in Nakuru County at the weekend urging leaders to promote peace as they criss-cross the country in the build-up to the General Election.

The presidential hopeful noted he was suited to lead the country if elected; saying his ideologies of accountability and transparency had the chance of shaping the country’s economy. Muturi who spoke while meeting a section of opinion shapers within the county lamented that selfishness from some leaders who engage in corruption was the main cause the nation was stalling economically.

“We have great ideas and blueprint like the Big Four Agenda and the Vision 2030, all this can be greatly achieved if we have accountable leaders, it pains me that so far corruption is stalling all these dreams,” said Muturi.

Muturi who is vying on a Democratic Party (DP) ticket lashed at the Deputy President William Ruto claiming he has been on the campaign trail since 2017 driving the country into an election mood ahead of time.

According to him, Kenyans cannot be able to enjoy development if campaigns are done for five years in every cycle, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has now released its calendar, which we will follow.
