Narok senator Ledama Olekina has rebuffed an invitation by the county's governor Patrick Ole Ntutu to attend his thanksgiving prayer service.

Governor Ntutu is holding a thanksgiving prayer service on Sunday, January 29, 2022, at Ole Ntimama stadium.

President William Ruto is among the guests who are expected to attend the thanksgiving prayer service.

Olekina revealed he had been invited to the thanksgiving prayer service when he took to Twitter to poke fun at the invitation.

The Narok senator dismissed the thanksgiving prayer service, which will be attended by president Ruto, as a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) rally.

"The Governor of Narok @OleNtutuK is smoking leaves of Mary Jane instead of the real thing! In his right mind does he think I can attend an UDA rally ? I don’t play with swine … bure kabisa," Olekina tweeted.

Several leaders aligned with UDA have been holding prayer thanksgiving ceremonies following the August 9, 2022, General Election.

Ruto on January 14, 2023, was in Asembo, Siaya county to attend a thanksgiving ceremony of ICT Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eliud Owalo.

The event was also attended by leaders aligned with the government including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula among others.
