61% of Kenyans believe country is headed in wrong direction – InfoTrak
61 per cent of Kenyans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction - this is according to the latest opinion poll by Infotrak research and consulting company.
This is an increase in the number of Kenyans dissatisfied with the Kenya Kwanza administration considering that only 51 per cent of Kenyans believed the country was headed in the wrong direction at the same time last year (2022).
Kenyans mentioned the high cost of living (93 per cent), Unemployment (37 per cent) poverty (20 per cent).
In governance, President William Ruto has scored D plan while his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua has scored an E at 47 per cent and 36 per cent respectively.
Cabinet Secretaries (CS) scored D (43), Parliament scored D (42), Senate scored D(42), the Judiciary scored D (47), Police also scored D (45).
The opposition was also ranked poorly by Kenyans at 47 per cent (D) while county assemblies also scored 45 (D).
In the polls, Ruto has scored 50 per cent in Rift Valley, 41 per cent in Nyanza and 48 per cent in Nairobi.
Gachagua scored 37 per cent in Rift Valley, 29 per cent in Nyanza and 34 per cent in Nairobi.
The opposition scored 49 per cent in Rift Valley, 52 per cent in Nyanza and 44 per cent in Nairobi.
The research was conducted between December 18 and 19, 2023, in all 47 counties with 1,500 Kenyans involved.
Kenyans mentioned the high cost of living, high taxation, unemployment and corruption as the leading issues that the government needs to address immediately.
