Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Sam Ojwang  on Monday warned police  against beating up civilians during curfew hours.

He said using excessive force against members of the public  is criminal and whoever will be  found culpable of the act will be individually held accountable.

“Beating and injuring of people during the ongoing curfew  is something everyone would wish not to be associated with. I condemn any acts of  excessive force against innocent people,’’ Ojwang  said.

He further asked police officers in the county to behave humanely when handling people during the curfew.
