DP Ruto w*rns politicians against incitement

Deputy President William Ruto has asked politicians to stop inciting Kenyans against each other for their own gains.
Ruto warned that there was a section of politicians focused on sowing seeds of discord among Kenyans to advance their selfish agenda.
He said violence can never be part of the country’s political fabric.
“It will not happen in our country. Kenyans are after development-leaning and progressive leaders.”
He spoke at his Karen residence in Nairobi during a prayer meeting attended by Narok County religious and political leaders.
Present were MPs Lemanken Aramat (Narok East), Gabriel Tongoyo (Narok West), Soipan Tuya (Woman Rep, Narok), David ole Sankok (Nominated) and Mary Senata (nominated).
Rude shock
Others were Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Gladys Shollei (Woman Rep, Uasin Gishu), and Senators Steve Lelegwe (Samburu) and Susan Kihika (Nakuru).
Ruto said that the beneficiaries of division, hatred and violence in politics were in for a rude shock, as Kenyans were keen on the country’s oneness.
He assured Kenyans that the government would not allow the perpetrators of retrogressive politics to succeed.
Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno and his Kapseret counterpart Oscar Sudi sparked outrage last week following their attacks on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family.
Both have since been arrested and charged in court for engaging in hate speech.
Nyoro and Kihika faulted those opposed to Ruto’s youth groups empowerment programme saying they were out of touch with reality.
