Ford Kenya leaders tell Wetangula to accept party leadership changes

Ford Kenya Secretary General Eseli Simiyu has countered claims of party leader Moses Wetangula that some outsiders had backed up leadership changes made on May 31 by NEC members who removed him.
Eseli accused Wetangula for misleading the people of Trans Nzoia in alluding to the fact that those who had made up minds towards his ouster had since failed and that he was firmly in control of the party.
Speaking to the media Sunday, Eseli said the conservatory orders obtained by Wetangula will lapse on Monday and reiterated the earlier position taken by NEC members as irreversible.
“The conservatory orders restraining the registrar of political parties Anne Nderitu from effecting changes in the party’s leadership lapses Monday and so the former party leader’s statement amounts to lies," he said.
He regretted that Wetangula had opted to lie to the people of Trans Nzoia that he had taken full control of the party when in the real sense the timing of the conservatory orders that end Monday.
The Tongaren legislator who is also the National Assembly minority deputy whip told Wetangula to wait for the outcome of the case he had launched instead of misleading Kenyans .
In a separate interview , Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati said the decision removing Wetangula from the party leadership was not negotiable.
