Yala Sub-County Hospital management is expected this week to release the body of a 45-year-old Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer to his family for burial, following the positive match of the DNA results.

Francis Oyaro’s body was among the 21 bodies that were recently retrieved from River Yala.

It is the samples taken from his mother Tabitha Oyaro last week in Kisumu, that proved that the body of KWS intelligence officer Francis Isaac Awuor Oyaro, was indeed among those lying at Yala sub-County Hospital mortuary.

His eldest son- Paul Okere says they were notified by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters to pick the results last Tuesday and on Wednesday, two family members went to collect the results at the DCI headquarters.

“The white envelope that was collected by my twin sisters; Evaline and Diana revealed to us the sad news,” said Okere.

“We shall go to the hospital , to engage the hospital management so that the body be released to us to plan for his burial,” he said.

The hospital’s superintendent  Bruno Okall says they await directive from the DCI.
