Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana now says it has become difficult to work with Kalonzo Musyoka in Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya coalition in Ukambani region.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Kibwana said the Wiper leader wants him out of the coalition but he had learned to live with it.

"It is proving impossible to work with @skmusyoka in Azimio in Ukambani. After he joined us, he wanted especially me out of all Azimio structures.

"I have no choice but to be at peace with this sad reality. History will ultimately judge all of us. May it be kind," the governor wrote.

Kibwana's party, Muungano, joined the then Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja Movement in March, before Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya alliance was formed following the collapse of One Kenya Alliance.

Kibwana's sentiments come as Musyoka fight to be given a running mate position in Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition ahead of the August 9 polls.

However, the entry of governors Kibwana, Alfred Mutua (Machakos), and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) into Azimio complicated Kalonzo's chances of negotiating for the deputy president position under Raila presidency.

Kalonzo has been quoted as saying he would approach discussions around coalition building as a tough negotiator.

"This (Wiper) will be a party in government and even with the position of deputy president, we will have many more opportunities.

"This time, especially in the coalition power negotiations, I am sure some people have said that they have never seen this Kalonzo (tough negotiator)," he said on April 6.
