Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today's happenings.

Power outage in Nairobi

Several parts of Nairobi will experience a power outage on Sunday, January 21, 2024, according to Kenya Power and Lighting Company.

The outage will mostly affect customers along Waiyaki Way and in Westlands.

Among the places to experience power interruptions between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm include parts of Westlands, part of Waiyaki Way, Muthangari Drive, Mahiga Mairu Au, Mvuli Road, International Conference of Churches, Westlands Court, Western Heights, Waiyaki Close, Triangle Properties, Toyota EA, The Address, Sohail Development, Shako & Partners, Sentrim Contractors Rotrite Limited and Patrick Kariuki.

Other parts include Park Plaza Ltd, Medanta, Laxmanbhai, Karuna Road, Jacaranda Hotel, Goodman Agencies Ltd, Fidelity Insurance, Elm Ridge, Eco Bank, David Osieli Road, Church Road, ci Westlands, All African, Conference, AACC & adjacent customers.

AFCON

Round two of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) group matches continue today with six national teams up in action.

Morocco, who sit at the top of Group F, will seek to retain their spot when they play against DR Congo at 5:00 pm in the day's first match.

Zambia will be seeking to beat Tanzania and increase their chances of qualifying for the round of 16 in a match to be played at 8:00 pm. Tanzania lost their first match against Senegal and will fight to turn things around.

South Africa will play Namibia at 11:00 pm. Currently, South Africa sits at the bottom of Group E while Namibia sits second.

EPL

Two matches will be played in the English Premier League (EPL) on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

Sheffield United, who sit at the bottom of the table will be seeking points against sixth-placed West Ham United in a match to be played at 5:00 pm.

12th-placed Bournemouth will battle it out against in-form Liverpool, currently sitting at the top of the log.

KPL

Four matches will be played in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) today.

Bidco United will face Talanta FC at 1:00 pm while Police FC will play against Nzoia Sugar at 3:00 pm.

AFC Leopards will battle Nairobi City Stars at 3:00 pm while Posta Rangers face Murang'a SEAL at 4:00 pm.
