Residents living in informal settlements in Embu county have something to smile about after being issued with title deeds by the county government.

Embu Governor Martin Nyaga Wambora issued 269 title deeds to 840 residents at Kathita and Kimagaru slums in Embu west sub-county.

While speaking at Embu talent academy during the issuance of the title deeds, Governor Wambora said the locals had lived in those areas for long without the ownership documents and it was time for them now to get their title deeds.

''Today the people of Kathita and Kimagaru will go home with their tittle deeds. They have suffered for a long time. Tittle deed is a very important document,'' said Wambora.

The Council of the Governors' chief noted that the county government is on course to improve standards of the infrastructure in the area and also improve security through the provision of enough street lights across the slums.
