All is set for the United Democratic Alliance's (UDA) National Delegates Convention (NDC) at Kasarani Gymnasium in Nairobi.

Over 5000 delegates have been invited to endorse Deputy President William Ruto’s State House bid as per the constitution to battle it out with Azimio la Umoja's and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The event where ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi is also expected to attend will mark the formal end of Ruto's Jubilee Party leadership where he served as the deputy party leader.

Yesterday, Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki divulged the possibility of Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua attending the event; claims that the former Gichugu MP has since dismissed.

By last evening, all plans at the historic venue had been finished for the major event that will set stage for a heated duel between Ruto and Odinga.

Besides unveiling Ruto as its presidential candidate, UDA is also expected to make critical decisions that will steer the party's political future.

According to Kindiki, the DP will also be confirmed as the choice to fly the Kenya Kwanza flag.

"We will endorse the DP to fly the flag of UDA and that of Kenya Kwanza in the upcoming polls," he said.

The main question remains whether ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi will drop his bid and support Ruto at a time that his allies have been insisting that he must be made the alliance's presidential candidate's running mate.
