Kenya’s COVID-19 cases pass 3000 mark as 175 patients discharged

Kenya has confirmed additional 105 new cases of coronavirus after 2, 274 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman announced on Wednesday.

This takes the total number of cases in the country to 3094.

Of the cases, 96 are Kenyans and nine are foreigners.

They are between age two and 77 years.

The cases are distributed in Nairobi 43, Busia 18, Mombasa 11, Turkana 7, Migori 6, Kwale 5, Machakos 5, Kiambu 5, Kilifi 3, Machakos 3, Taita Taveta 3, Kisumu 2, Uasin Gishu 1, Siaya 1, Garissa 1 and Kajiado 1.

The country has also discharged a record 175 patients in the past 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 1, 048. This is the highest number of discharges in a day ever recorded since the outbreak of the disease in Kenya.

One more patient has died; total deaths now at 89.

Kenya has so far tested 102, 956 people.
