Muyoti using Covid-19 break to learn more
Kakamega Homeboyz head Nicholas Muyoti is taking advantage of the current Covid-19 break to sharpen his skills by learning new things before action resumes.
Muyoti, who is among the youthful local soccer coaches who have so far impressed in the Kenyan Premier League, is aiming to instil new skills into his players and also working on their mental strength.
Speaking to People Sport in Kakamega yesterday, Muyoti revealed that his desire is to gain more knowledge in football management and has therefore decided to further his skills through an online platform.
“For me, the only thing that has changed is training with the players due to the social distancing directives but this has made me develop other ways that will remain beneficial to me and the rest of the team in terms of techniques and skills,” said Muyoti.
“Knowledge is power and for me to go places, I need this empowerment and equip me with the right material that will help me and the team when we resume normal activities in a couple of weeks.
I am very keen on understanding what other big clubs around the world are doing and this has given me great insight and deep understanding,” he added.
“In terms of infrastructure, I feel we have a long journey but I am grateful to a few counties and national government’s efforts to refurbish and come up with new stadia across the country, something that will improve the standards of soccer,” said Muyoti.
