Posta Rangers FC Head Coach Stanley Okumbi has declared that there is no room for another error for the team in the 2021/22 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League.

Okumbi’s sentiments are well documented in the marquee signing the mailmen made ahead of the league which has just taken a two-week break to pave the way for the two-legged 2022 World Cup qualifiers between Kenya and Mali.

“We are rebuilding the team and we look forward to making the most in the new season.

I do not expect the league to be easy but you should rest assured that Posta Rangers is not there to make up numbers,” said Okumbi.

Rangers were overly keen on skills with scoring wizard Timothy Otieno, a returnee to the team and who was sourced from Sofapaka, one of their biggest signings.

Considered “Mr Fix It” in all the teams he has previously turned for, Otieno started his career at Gor Mahia youth team before he was elevated to the senior side.

A journeyman, Otieno would later feature for Rangers and later Tusker before testing professional ranks with NAPSA of Zambia.

After expiry of his contract with NAPSA, Otieno returned home where he joined Sofapaka.

Rangers have also signed two other former Tusker players in midfielder Brian Marita and Sammy Meja.

Also in the team’s ranks is Sammy Imbuye Mukhwana from Sofapaka, in a move which Okumbi describes as a dawn of a new era in the team that struggled last season by winding up in the 13th position out of 17 participating teams.

The experienced tactician, who also handles the under-23 team, said Rangers are not in the league to make up numbers, adding that all along, he has been searching for the new players in every nook and cranny to bolster the team.
