FOOTBALL:  Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Sofapaka is appealing to President Uhuru Kenyatta for a team bus to aid their movement during league matches.

The former league champions were promised a bus by the head of state in 2014 when the team members paid him a courtesy call at State House after winning the 2014 FKF Cup Competition, but it is yet to be delivered.

“It would be timely if we got the bus now, because transporting the team has been a challenge for us due to the harsh economic times.

The bus we had is small and not comfortable for long distances so we have been forced to hire buses whenever we are travelling for league matches,” said Sofapaka General Manager Jimmy Omajo.

The team, whose home matches are played at the Wundanyi stadium, had to temporarily shift their home base to Thika Stadium, because of the transport costs.
