The Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Comm ittee has hinted at leagues resum - ing this week after consultations are done with various stakeholders.

Following the disbandment of the federation 10 days ago, Sports Cabinet
Secretary Amina Mohamed appointed a Caretaker Committee on November 11 to oversee football in the country due to allegations of abuse of office by the Nick Mwendwa led secretariat.

The committee headed by Justice (Rtd) Aaron Ringera says it is close to getting the game back on track and that their mission is to sanitise
football will not be stopped.

During a presser Saturday, the head of the comm it- tee’s secretariat Lindah Ogutu stated that all was in place to ensure the leagues resume.

“We are looking at next week to resume all the suspended leagues officially. We anticipate that this week we will have a stakeholder engagement to chart a way forward,” she said.

Ogutu also took issue with a draft committee budget document doing rounds on social media, calling it
fake.

“These are all lies peddled to set a certain agenda. The committee has internal mechanism, so we urge all to treat all rumours as that,” she said.

She also allayed fears that any of the members had been de-gazetted, adding discussions are also underway with the Kenyan Premier League Ltd to run the top tier as it had done for m ore than a decade before the FKF took over the m engagement.
