Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has issued a notice for two-day Annual General Meeting (AGM) to roll out the process of holding elections later this year.

In a statement signed by FKF Chief Executive Officer Barry Otieno and sent to various stakeholders, among them all the federation’s 48 county branches, 18 FKF Premier League clubs, 10 National Super League (NSL) clubs, three clubs in the women’s Premier League, two clubs in the women’s NSL, the notice confirmed the ninth AGM will be held on March 16.

“Pursuant to Article 29(2) of the FKF constitution (2017), formal notice is hereby given that ninth AGM of FKF will be held on March 16 in Nairobi at 10 am,” read part of the statement, adding: “Additionally, in accordance with Article 29(3)of the FKF constitution (2017), the formal convocation will be communicated at least thirty (30) days before the date of the AGM.”

The statement further outlined delegates who will attend the meeting in line with Article 23 (1) of the FKF constitution. They include one delegate from each of the 48 FKF Counties, one delegate from each of the 18 FKF Premier League clubs, while delegates from NSL will be comprised of teams occupying position one (1) to ten (10) of the official league standing thirty (30) days to the AGM.

Delegates from the National Division One will be comprised of teams occupying positions one (1) to five (5) in both zones of the official league standing thirty (30) days before the General meeting.

The latest development comes after FKF’s National Executive Committee (NEC) kick-started the process for the eagerly awaited exercise and confirmed that the FKF Electoral Code (2020), which was used during the previous elections, will once again be used.

During Saturday’s NEC meeting, the federation bosses approved the use of the Electoral Code 2020 at this year’s polls, approved the calendar for all national teams activities, approved FKF competitions calendar for 2024, approved a list of proposed electrol board members and adopted the FKF budget for 2024.

All the recommendations at the meeting were passed unanimously despite fears of rejection for two out of the 13 NEC members that have faulting the leadership of the current regime.
