Kisumu All-Stars look like a vastly improved side under new tactician Charles Bruno after notching their third win of the season to beat visitors Kibera Black Stars 2-1 in an exciting Round 5 clash held Saturday at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu City.

As it stands currently, the Lakeside team also known as Otenga are on 10 points in the National Super League standings off five matches with a goal difference of +4. Stuttering Blacks stars are on 15th place with a single point to their name as the slum boys have only won once this campaign in five fixtures.

All-Stars goals came via club veteran Nelson Amunga in the 15th minute against the run of play in what was a titanic opening half. However, a minute after the second half restarted,Black stars equalized through John Njoroge but 19 minutes later after some neat interplay,Brian Steve latched onto a loose ball to score what would be the winner for the home side to seal the deal.

Meanwhile Mathare United FC has now dropped seven places on the log to 11th place after their 1-3 loss away to Mombasa United. The slum boys who have a match in hand, have won twice and lost once in the process with one tie to their name. As for Mombasa United FC previously known as Coastal Heroes, they are now up to sixth on the log on eight points with a goal difference of +3 off five matches played.

Elsewhere, leaders Mara Sugar FC continued with their good run having not been beaten yet in five matches. At the weekend, the sugar men under tutelage of Coach Francis Xavier thrashed out of sorts Vihiga Bullets FC 5-0 at Awendo Green Stadium.

A brace from Reuben Okoth in the 2nd and 20th minutes,Yusuf Ochieng strike in the 35th minute,Philemon Nyakwakwa effort in the 44th minute and a Samuel Otieno finish in the 62nd minute ensured the current league leaders stayed put on 13 points off five games with a solid goal difference of +11. The struggling Bullets who were last season relegated from the top flight on their part are back to familiar territory as they presently sit 17th in the log with a paltry four points in the bag.

In other collated weekend results;newcomers Dimba Patriots FC and Luanda Villa FC settled for a goalless draw Sunday and are currently on 13th place and seventh place respectively. On the other hand,Mombasa Elite FC got precious points away on the road after a 1-0 win over hosts Mulembe United FC courtesy of a Daniel Odhiambo 46th minute finish. The win pushed Elite to fifth on the log with nine points off five matches played.
