NAIROBI: Mara Sugar FC will be looking at getting a good result away against Coastal Heroes today afternoon at Mbaraki Sports Club in what will only be their second engagement of the new National Super League season.

Heroes currently top the standings with four points off two matches and should be keen to keep the status quo. In the past two matches pitting the two clubs, they have ended in a win for each.

In the first leg played in February,Mara beat Heroes 2-0 and in the return leg in June, the latter beat the former 2-1.As such, the contest looks balanced on book with all sides expected to give a good fight.

Heroes in their first encounter beat neighbors Mombasa Elite 1-0 and a week later tied 2-2 with Vihiga United. As for Mara Sugar,in their only duel thus far, they beat retailers Naivas FC 1-0 in what was a positive start for them.

In another match slated for today, fifth placed Shabana FC and SS Assad FC lock horns at Gusii Stadium straight after both had important wins last weekend. Shabana also known to the locals as Tore Bobe beat strugglers Silibwet Leons by a solitary goal in the last minute of play at the Bomet Stadium. Sixth placed Assad on their side, also stunned Kibera Black Stars by a solitary goal at Shamu Grounds in Mombasa County.

In their previous meetings,Shabana holds a 2-0 advantage having won both home and away contests. This statistic on paper gives Tore Bobe the advantage over their soon to be opponents and at their home turf.

The only game of the weekend, early pacesetters Kibera Black Stars host Mombasa Elite at Camp Toyoyo in what is expected to be a good match between two attacking teams. Black Stars who will be at home will be hopeful of getting maximum points having dropped along the way in their last league fixture. As for Elite who are yet to earn a win in this campaign will be going all out for victory so as to kick-start their campaign proper.
