Afc Leopards have been handed a boost of quality and depth with the return of utility defender Kaycie Odhiambo to training after a long injury lay-off.

The 20-year-old returned full training on Monday with the rest of the squad at the MPESA Foundation in Thika much more to the delight of his teammates and the coaching staff.

“ I am happy to see him back to training. It’s been months and without him here we felt a void even though we were not playing league matches,” said team captain Washington Munene who welcomed Kaycie back.

The Makadara Junior League (Hakati fc) academy graduate injured his knee on April 18 at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani stadium during a league match against Wazito fc and has been out since then.

Afc leopards team doctor Patrick Ngusale said that he has now given him a clean bill of health and it’s now upon the player to find his fitness and regain his position in the team.

“Back in April Kaycie suffered multiple injuries on his knee. During that game against Wazito, he ruptured his meniscus at the same time bruising the femur bone. It was necessary for him to do surgery and then let his body heal on its own,” said Ngusale.

Afc Leopards are all set to kick start their season against Ulinzi Stars away at the Ulinzi sports Complex on Saturday 19th of November 2022. Head coach Patrick Aussiems is now a relieved man with Kaycie Odhiambo back and no major injury concerns, though he might not feature the 20 year due to his lack of fitness.
