Japanese forward Yuto Kusaba expressed confidence in his ability to contribute more to Nairobi City Stars after scoring his first goal for the club in the FKF Premier League.

In a thrilling 26th round encounter against Murang'a SEAL at the Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday, Kusaba's penalty strike, with five minutes of regular playtime remaining, secured his maiden Kenyan Premier League goal.

The goal came after fellow substitute Newton Ochieng was fouled in the box, shortly after receiving a precise pass from winger Samuel Kapen.

Kusaba, who had only been on the field for under three minutes after replacing the outstanding Mohammed Bajaber, confidently converted the spot-kick.

Kusaba's goal complemented two others scored by Bajaber, who netted from the penalty spot, and Dennis Oalo's strike, sealing a convincing 3-0 victory for Nairobi City Stars.

Reflecting on his achievement after the match, Kusaba expressed his excitement about scoring his debut goal but emphasized his hunger for more success.

"I feel super after that (debut) goal. But I am not satisfied. I am going for more. I can do more. Expect more," he told City Stars media

The goal marked Kusaba's first in just his fifth appearance in the Kenyan topflight league. He made his debut with a cameo appearance against Shabana in Machakos in early February and subsequently earned starting roles in matches against Bandari and Gor Mahia, with a substitute appearance against Muhoroni in between.

Yuto Kusaba eligibility

Kusaba's eligibility to play in the FKF Premier League came after the midseason transfer window, following his completion of registration with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Despite joining Nairobi City Stars in the offseason, Kusaba faced a period of inactivity initially due to complications related to international transfer regulations under the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS).
