Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had a clear message to Kenyans that Kenya Kwanza's Christian faith will be on full display during their tenure.

Speaking on Sunday at a church service in Ruai, Gachagua while telling off critics owing to the administration's frequent thanksgiving meetings, he noted they will keep at it and not miss a Sunday service.

"I was reading the papers this morning and they were saying that this is our 28th Church Service since we came into office. I want to save them the task of counting… we will be in Church for 52 Sundays per year for the next five years," Gachagua stated.

Last Sunday, the Kenya Kwanza administration was in Narok county for a thanksgiving church service with other similar services being held in other parts of Mt. Kenya and Rift Valley.

Gachagua noted that he and President William Ruto plan to continue attending church services “so as to commit the country to God”.

Further, he announced their next meeting will be in Nakuru county.

This level of devotion to regularly attend religious services is not seen from recent presidents, who were professed Christians but intermittently attended church or worshipped privately.

For instance, immediate former President Uhuru Kenyatta did not have a habit of attending church services weekly, though he made several appearances in various religious gatherings across the country.
