Azimio, Kenya Kwanza technical teams officially co-opted to negotiating team

The National Dialogue Team between Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party and Kenya Kwanza has officially co-opted technical teams from both sides to the negotiating team.

In a joint statement, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah said the technical team has been tasked with framing agenda items for dialogue.

"The technical teams have been tasked to fast frame the agenda items for consideration by the dialogue committee and equally review the bi-partisan talks framework agreement to incorporate the negotiating teams resolutions," the statement read in part.

Kenya Kwanza's technical team comprises Dr Muthomi Thiankolu, Dr Linda Musumba, Nick Biketi and Dr Duncan Ojwang while Azimio's team comprises Jeremiah Kioni, Prof Adams Oloo, Zein Abubakar and Lynn Ngugi.

The national dialogue team convened today Monday, August 14, 2023, at the Bomas of Kenya, bringing together representatives from Kenya Kwanza and Azirnio negotiating teams.

"During the meeting. the technical teams were formally constituted and formally co-opted to work with the negotiating team," the statement added.

The Parliamentary leadership of both the National Assembly and the Senate have been tasked to process a motion to legally establish the dialogue team.

"The National Assembly is in session and the leadership shall process the same this week. The Senate is in recess but the Senate leadership shall process the same as soon as possible in a special session to be convened," the statement added.

The next meeting of the dialogue team is scheduled for Monday, August 21, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Bomas of Kenya.
