Kitale residents protest Wetangula’s removal from party leadership

Business came to a standstill in Kitale on Sunday after angry members of Ford Kenya protested the removal of party leader Moses Wetangula.
Donned in the party colours, the protestors chanted choruses to show solidarity to their leader Moses Wetangula.
They hit at some unnamed politicians for teaming up with outsiders to hatch attempts to topple Wetangula from the party leadership and warned that such attempts would be met with the full force of law.
"We know those thirsting for Ford Kenya's back door take over. They are known for forming parties and turning them moribund. We will be resisting all their attempts ", said Alphayo Muganda, an ally of Kiminini MP Dr Chris Wamalwa.
Speaking to the media in kitale, Muganda said Wetangula is being fought because of his political resilience, and his fight against party dictatorship which was grappling back forcing an escape of democracy.
Ford Kenya youth leader Aggrey Nalianya said party members were concerned that outsiders had teamed up to ensure no one from the Luhya community will vie for the 2022 presidential poll.
Nairobi based lawyer Benson Milimo said Some people who were uncomfortable with Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula want to use force in destabilizing the Party so that they can have their way easily.
They accused Party Secretary-General David Eseli Simiyu and Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi for accepting to be used by some unnamed forces to stage a coup in the party.
"Yes we welcome the selection of Tongaren MP Dr. David Simiyu Eseli who is our Party Secretary-General to take over as Deputy Minority Whip in the National Assembly but we are asking him not to accept advances from outsiders to rock the party from within when he knows how Wetangula has assisted him,’’ said Milimo
