Nyamira County Government employees have protested constant salary delay.

The workers, especially those living with disability, said for the last three months, they have not been getting their pay on time.

Led by secretary Jared Wilberforce, they told Governor Amos Nyaribo to clear the air on why their salaries were being delayed since he took over office. “Some of us have children to feed and clothe.

We also need to pay rent on time yet we have not received our salaries. How does the county government expect us to operate, especially those of us who are disabled?” Wilberforce queried .

Wilberforce, who is visually impaired, yesterday said they will boycott work if they do not get their pay this week.

Efforts to contact County Secretary James Ntabo over the matter were unsuccessful as his cell phone went unanswered.
