Police records show man in abduction saga had case

A Mombasa man, whose family claims was abducted by security agents last week, has been on the police radar for more than six years.

Police records indicate that Nasoro Mohammed was picked by anti-terror police officers in 2016 in connection to terrorism related activities.

Mohamed’s wife, Jamila Hassan, confirmed that indeed her husband was picked by police officers and charged with terrorism-related case.

Court records show that Mohamed had been charged before a Shanzu Magistrate’s Court with the offence of being a member of Al-Shabab terror group. The case is ongoing.

“He was once arrested six years ago and arraigned with terror-related charges. He has been attending the case hearings faithfully until his recent abduction,”she said.

She said the father of seven was abducted by people believed to be police officers who wAere in civilian clothes and were heavily armed.

“The trio had visited the area two days prior to his disappearance and had tea outside a hotel near our house. They came back the following day and bundled him in a Probox escorted by a Land Cruiser,”she said.

She has called on the authorities to produce her husband dead or alive.

But the police have denied any involvement in the disappearance of Mohammed.
